Engineering With Nature Atlas

Our natural flood management work has been featured in Vol. 3 of the "Engineering With Nature" Atlas, compiled by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Engineering With Nature (EWN) Initiative aims to align natural and engineering processes to efficiently and sustainably deliver economic, environmental, and social benefits through collaboration. While developed as a USACE initiative, Engineering With Nature is accomplished by the collaborative work of partners from around the world. Partners in the Initiative understand the vision of Engineering With Nature, aligning human purposes and natural processes for greater benefit.

We are very pleased to announce that our natural flood management works, carried out in 2019, have been recognised and added to Volume 3 of the Engineering With Nature Atlas, which showcases Engineering With Nature principles and practices in action through illustrations and descriptions of constructed projects around the world. It is great to be featured alongside other projects such as Coonamessett River work in Massachusetts, United States and the Illinois Beach State Park in Illinois, United States.

Our feature can be found on page 236 of the PDF below (labelled page 220 on the print), in the "Use of Vegetation And Natural Materials" chapter.
